Our Pastors

Acts 20:28 (ESV)
Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.

Mark Altrogge Mark Altrogge, our Senior Pastor, is responsible for leading the church, including preaching and teaching. Once a Beatles-inspired rock and roller, he can still occasionally be found on stage leading the worship team. He has been the Senior Pastor at Sovereign Grace Church for 25 years.

Mark and his wife, Kristi, live in Indiana with their five children and two dogs.

What a privilege and responsibility we have! Joe and I consider ourselves blessed to be the pastors of this wonderful church that Jesus purchased with his blood. There is nothing we would rather do than care for and serve Sovereign Grace Church. – Mark

Joe Ryer Joe Ryer grew up in York, Pennsylvania and attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania, graduating in 1998 with a degree in Sociology. Jesus saved Joe during his college years, and soon after his conversion he became a member of Sovereign Grace Church in 1997. He met his wife Mary in college and they were married in 1999. Joe graduated from the Sovereign Grace Ministries Pastors College in 2004 and has been serving as Family Life pastor since then.

Joe and Mary live in Indiana with their three children, Isaac, Lilly, and Adam.

I am so grateful to God that he has called me to serve the greatest people in the world, in the greatest place in the entire world, good old Indiana, PA. – Joe

Stephen Altrogge Stephen Altrogge, Mark's son, oversees the worship team and the college ministry. He is much more athletic than his dad and can still beat Joe in one-on-one basketball.

Stephen came on staff in 2007. He and his wife, Jen, have two beautiful little girls named Charis and Ella.

I count it a tremendous privilege to serve this church, and a great joy to labor alongside the members of this church in the great work of the gospel. I am a blessed man! – Stephen
