Care Groups

We should not think of our felllowship with other Christians as a spiritual luxury, an optional addition to the exercises of private devotions... It [is] vital to a Christian's spiritual health, and central to the Church's true life. The church will flourish and Christians will be strong only when there is fellowship. – J.I. Packer

God has designed Christians for fellowship and investing in fellow believers' lives. This is why we have Care Groups. Held twice each month, these groups are often the starting point for gospel-centered friendships and discussions. They are also a means of encouraging and supporting one another in prayer.

Fellowship: a lifestyle

The Bible tells us the lifestyle of the early church was characterized by a devotion to apostolic instruction, fellowship, breaking bread and prayer. This took place in the temple and from house to house (Acts 2:42-47). Both settings are essential for the growth, maturity and care of every disciple of Jesus Christ.

At Sovereign Grace Church, Care Groups provide the context for members to meet from house to house. The basic objectives are to consistently apply God's Word and to develop relationships for the purpose of maturity, service and outreach.

Where and when do we meet?

Care Groups are held in the evening at member's homes twice each month, generally on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Here is the current list of Care Groups.

For more information on dates, locations, or topics, please call the church office at 724-349-7940.

How do I get involved?

After going through the Exploring Sovereign Grace Church course and becoming a member, all members are asked to become part of a Care Group. We will help you find a Care Group where you can be encouraged and cared for in your Christian growth and develop friendships.
